Happy Days

Dark clouds may have been threatening above and a cold wind blowing a gale, but nothing could put the dampers on our Picnic in the Park this afternoon, and the gods were with us, as despite the breeze it stayed dry.

Camped beneath a beautiful great willow tree the volunteers of Stratford Community Radio, with families and friends, gathered for their latest social event in the Recreation Ground, with a fabulous spread of delicious food and drinks to keep us fed and watered.

Sara from Fairy Fun(www.fairyfun.co.uk)delighted the children – and the ladies! – with her glitter tattoos. Adding a little sparkle to the occasion, they will last for up to a week, so some of us will have a bit of explaining to do in the office on Monday!

As with all voluntary organisations things often change. We are currently going through a bit of a re-shuffle here at the station, which has created some opportunities for new people to join the in a number of different roles.

We’re a very friendly bunch here at SCR – if you would like to find out more about becoming a volunteer with us, then please email info@myscr.co.uk telling us about what you would like to do and what skills you might already have that we could put to good use! Type ‘Volunteering’ in the subject line, and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Maybe next time we have a social get-together, you could be passing round the sandwiches! Happy days indeed!

Happily Ever After Joins the Saturday Crew

SCR's literary show Happily Ever After, presented by Jacqui Alexander, is on the move! It can now be heard on Saturdays from 2.30pm-3.30pm, although not today, as Jacqui is unable to drive today and can't get into the studio.
Happily Ever After is for everyone who enjoys literature - whether as a reader or a writer - and the show aims to showcase local writing talent, so if you are a writer, whether a poet, novelist, scripwriter of writer of short-stories, this show is for you!
The show holds regular writing competitions, where the prize is to come into the studio and read out your winning work - a treat that money can't buy.
Jacqui looks forward to welcoming you to the show every Saturday at 2.30pm.
