Welcome to the SCR blog page. This is where you can find out the inside track about everything (well almost!) that's going on at Stratford Community Radio. Presenters, producers and all the back room staff will keep you up to speed on all the latest developments at YOUR radio station, so remember to check back on a regular basis. Don't forget, if you've got something to say about the town in which you live, then contact us.
STRATFORD BECOMES RADIO-ACTIVE!
Programmes have already been scheduled for Fridays, Saturday and Sundays (10am-6pm) each week with many of the founding band of over 50 local volunteers taking a turn at producing and presenting. SCR will seek to work to provide varied programmes covering all aspects of life in Shakespeare's home town and its environs.Programmes featuring various genres of music, along with chat and debate on issues of local interest will be augmented by regular updates on the myriad cultural and social events happening in the region, sports and club news.
Speaking during the launch at Cox's Yard, Stratford, Station Manager Adrian Styles said "SCR is open to everyone for them to have their say.We will try to ensure that debate and content is well balanced and we'd love to hear from anyone who'd like to become involved on a voluntary basis. We already have in place an agreement with the media department at Stratford College for students to hone their skills with us and are grateful to the college principal, Martin Penney, for agreeing to become a Patron".Other SCR patrons include Stratford District Councillor Stuart Beese, veteran actor and broadcaster Bill Maynard, local businessmen John Shepherd and Nick Whale and respected Stratford solicitor Adrian Organ.
Anyone interested in becoming involved in Stratford Community Radio, irrespective of age or experience, should contact the station at info@myscr.co.uk with their ideas or write to SCR, 50, Henley St, Stratford-upon-Avon,CV37 6QW.
